Masters Swimming

Tuesday, December 26, 2006

There has been significant discussions lately surrounding the Ironman swim. Luckily for us, swimming Masters three days a week is getting us prepared for the swim. If we keep practicing like this then I think that we will be okay...click PLAY BUTTON.

Christmas Day Speedwork

Monday, December 25, 2006

Nothing like a little run around the track after opening presents all morning. I can honestly say that this is one day that I will look back on and say one of two things...

#1 - boy, that speedwork on Christmas day really paid big dividends.

OR

#2 - I can't believe that after all I have done (working out every day, getting up early, masters swiming, doing speedwork on Christmas day, etc.) I still bonked.

If there is a Santa Claus then it will be #1 and not #2!!!

Run Karno Run

Friday, December 15, 2006

While the rest of us were hard at work Friday morning, Mike Pepper took to the streets of west county in search of Dean Karnazes. Word had it that Karno would be making his way through the STL area on his trek from NYC all the way back to San Fran. Pepper caught up with Dean along Ladue road and ran for about 40 minutes with our running hero. You can click here to track Deano's 3,000-mile odyssey.

Base Training Moves To Maui

Saturday, December 02, 2006

It's tough work but someone has to do it. My BASE TRAINING has moved to the Grand Wailea in Maui. Evenings will be spent out on the lanai, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, reading through Luc's training plan (desperately trying to understand the next day's workout). Days will be spent basking in the warm tropical atmosphere that is Maui. Don't worry, there will be plenty of running and biking (you gotta love Nancy's spin classes here) to keep me in tip top shape. Most importantly, I will return to the base training in St. Louis WITH A TAN!!! Well, that's it for now, I have to hit the BEACH!
